Exceptional Foresters, Inc. (EFI) has come a long way in our 50 plus years.  Many changes and much positive growth has occurred.  While that road has not always been smooth, the rewards have been many.

In response to the changing focus of Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, and guidance through EFI's Corporate mission to meet the changing needs presented by an ever-changing population, we have upgraded and increased the services we provide.  A higher degree of community integration through employment opportunities, social skills acquisition, and family-oriented residential living arrangements have empowered our clients to be the best they can be.  EFI has doubled both its client population as well as the numbers of staff serving clients within the past 3 years.  More growth is planned for the future.

The growth of the Corporation has long exceeded the capacity of the Corporate headquarters that EFI  occupied at Sanderson Field.  In October 2005, EFI moved into newly built corporate headquarters located on Railroad Ave. in Shelton.  This beautiful 8000+ square foot structure houses all EFI corporate staff members as well as EFI's Vocational Division.  A number of EFI clients are employed there as well.
